Information on the Safe Food for Canadians rules which started July 15

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued an update on the part of the “Safe Food for Canadians Regulations” which came into force on July 15, 2020, namely for “All other foods (manufactured foods)“.

The CFIA says its activities and priorities regarding industry compliance during the pandemic remain the same as announced in April.

Businesses are still expected to meet requirements of the Food and Drugs Act and the Food and Drug Regulations, as well as other Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) requirements that were applicable prior to July 15, 2020, including those related to food safety, exports, packaging and labelling.
