Tribunal to review expiry of duties on copper pipe fittings from the U.S., Korea and China

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its November 2016 finding to determine if the expiry of the relevant orders is likely to lead to continued or resumed dumping of copper pipe fittings from the United States, the Republic of Korea and China, and subsidizing of such goods originating from the China, and is likely to result in injury to Canadian industry.

In the first step of the review the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by April 7, 2022, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping and/or subsidizing of the goods if the finding is left to expire.

In the event of positive determinations, the Tribunal will determine, on September 14, 2022, whether the continued or resumed dumping and/or subsidizing is likely to result in injury.
