Trans-Pacific Partnership enters into force for Brunei on July 12

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will enter into force for Brunei on July 12.

As a result, eligible Bruneian goods imported into Canada are entitled to the CPTPP tariff treatment as of July 12, 2023.

The CPTPP is comprised of Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

The United Kingdom concluded talks to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership and current CPTPP members are now working with the UK to prepare and verify the legal instrument of accession.
